Fundraise For Us

We aim to be the local charity of choice and as we do not receive funding, we press all our efforts into fundraising locally and through people’s kind donations we can offer our support where it is needed. Every penny donated to the Karis May Darling Foundation is used to fund the local community and carry out our charity goals of supporting underprivileged children.

If you know of a child or young adult who you think deserves recognition or support, please get in touch.

3 Peaks Challenge

The wonderful team at JCW Group took on the 3 peaks challenge in aid of KMD in 2019. The 3 peaks challenge involves climbing / hiking the 3 tallest peaks across England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours!

These are Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis & Mount Snowdon. The total walking distance is 37km, total ascent is 10,052ft as well as total driving distance 462 miles.

The team pictured here finished the challenge with 6 minutes to spare and raised an incredible £2800.

Sky Diving

Our longstanding volunteer Caitlin Timmings raised roughly £2000 in 2022 by jumping out of plane at 120mph from 15,000ft.

A task like this takes so much bravery and guts, we are so grateful for our volunteers… even the crazy ones like Caitlin!

Rowing the Channel

Family and close friends of Karis and the Darlings took on the English Channel Row.

John Darling, Tony Darling, Tony Doyle, Mark Doyle, Matt Mulligan, Richard Benyon, Dean Crumpton and Mark Richards. These guys trained for months to row the 23 miles from Dover to Calais.

Their expedition took 8 hours and 45 minutes as the poor windy weather blew them off course an extra 10 miles where they were stuck rowing against the wind but not moving.

These lads raised a whopping £6000.

Music and Performance Fundraisers

We have held many events hosted by our team and the local community where bands and singers alike have come together to put on performance fundraisers.

Some of these events may be free purely for performers to put themselves out there or young performers to gain experience, generous donations may be made by passers by or families attending.

Other events may raise funds by ticket sales and extras like raffles. Events like these we have had donations come in from £200 to £3000, every little helps and we are appreciative of all fundraising events so we can continue our mission supporting children and young people.

How else can I raise money for Karis May Darling Foundation?

Alongside our annual Variety Day and Angel Ball, here are some ways you can fundraise for us individually or as part of a group.

  • Why not walk, run or cycle to raise money? Plan your route and let people know your plans, make sure to contact us too so we can support you!

  • Here at Karis May Darling Foundation, we always love to support the performing arts, so why not put on a show? Whether you can sing, dance or act, this is a great way to raise money with a group of other performers!

  • Do you have any unwanted clothes, books or toys? Set up a sale using online selling apps or a local bootsale to raise money! The great thing about this fundraiser is that your pre-loved items will be going to a new home while raising money for charity.

  • If you are a baker sell some cakes or cookies at your local school, club or community area. Why not set up a sponsored bake-off to make a fun competition?

As a local charity, every penny counts.
We are grateful of any donation received no matter how big or small…
